We asked SANTINI PROJECT S.R.L. Unipersonale, one of the Premium Vendors in the 4URSPACE Global Vendor Marketplace, to share their perspective on what makes signage and visual identity challenging across different retail locations.

From their experience, consistency is not simply about reproducing the same design everywhere. Different locations bring different technical, structural and regulatory conditions.
As Santini Project explains: “Specific site conditions and local regulations may require substantial changes to the original design.”
That can mean adapting lighting output, support systems, installation methods or even the positioning of the signage itself.
And this is exactly why, for Santini Project, the key is addressing these considerations before they become constraints: “We believe they should be considered from the earliest stages of the store development process.”
Addressing these elements early makes it easier to preserve the original design intent while adapting to the realities of each site.
Consistency becomes even more challenging when multiple suppliers are involved across different locations.
Santini Project highlights that: “Having a single supplier, or alternatively establishing very precise and shared general guidelines, helps ensure greater consistency between installations.”

The examples shared across brands such as Nespresso, Longchamp, Bottega Veneta and Diesel show how different materials, lighting solutions and technical requirements can lead to very different executions.
But the objective remains the same: protecting the identity of the brand while adapting to the reality of each location.
The challenge is not making every store identical.
It is making sure the brand remains recognizable, even when the technical conditions change.
